My life in UVCE

I had the best 4 years of my life in UVCE. I just wanted to share my experience with you. I changed a lot during these 4 years and I give that credit to my friends there, who helped me to change.

My first year experience was a great one. I had my two friends Akshay and Bharath who were my "Chaddi Dosts" we had been together from high school, who also joined UVCE.I liked the college environment with lots of greenary with the old architectural buildings, it was common to me as I studied in that type of school. I had still the school boy attitude of going back home immeadiatly after the college was over, not bunking college, wrting notes and listening to the lecturer(although there were only a few). The other main thing which was my major drawback was that I had no paitence, I used to blast someone if they said something to me. I think the first one to get blasted by me was Anand. We used to play all the time and sometime got into trouble with lecturers. This was the only year where we prepared one week ahead of internals. we used to spend most of our time in canteen, where we saw lecturer and student both fagging together, where the "no smoking" board was removed the very day it was put up. We used to enjoy our fests and our class was dominating the fest by winning most of the prizes, almost all of my friends won prizes. We always used to see the placement boards, to see which companies have come to the college although they were not for us and dream in the night of getting placed in one of those companies.

The second year was relatively the most boring year in my UVCE life. We had lots of classes and they had made 70% attendance compulsory (I think that was the first time in their history that the rule had been implemented). I was feeling like that I was put into a cage. This year was also bad academically. I think this was the turning point in my life. I realized that I was expecting too much and I didn’t have the right attitude to face such situations. This was also the year where I participated in a strike for the first time in my life. It was more a sort of a picnic for us. We played almost all the games we played in our childhood days (except for those girly games like "ringa ringa roses" things).

Third year onwards we enjoyed a lot. I had changed by now, I started to bunk classes, copy in internals, prepare for the exams only on the last day. Go home only after 7. My mom was happy that I started enjoying my life as I should and was also happy that I didn’t have the inferiority complex anymore. I got caught by my HOD for copying. We were using an advanced technique for copying, which was called as blind Xerox. I had bad luck that day and I was caught by my HOD, but to surprise she let me to write the internals (yipeeee). This year was special in everyone's life as we were expecting to be placed into companies which had been our dreams since we joined the college. Sandy, Vivek were the first guys to get placed into Infosys. Vivek got nice bumps from Ani, he almost lost his temper that day. After the fourth company came all of us got placed. Then we lost interest in studies, we had party almost everyday. We used to go to dabha's on Saturdays. My parents also realized that it was no use to tell me to study, as I was not listening to them. We started to bunk the class more often than ever before.

Finally the year came where we had to leave the college. That didn’t stop us from enjoying, it only motivated us to enjoy more than ever. We started going on long rides etc. We started to bunk internals. Abhi, vivek were the guys who went for movies bunking the class. We all joined companies for our final year projects and started earning. This was like adding fuel to our enthu. We then went for a class trip to Munnar. There myself, Akshay, Abhi, Anand, Arun, Bharath, Raghu, Prabhu, Sandeep, Sunil, Tanveer, Syed all of us stayed in the same room. We had hell a lot of fun for three days. We used stay awake late in the night and make lot of noise and get call from the reception to stop making noise.

Then the day came where all of us had to part away. All of us were stepping into our professional life. We knew that the fun time was over(although I am still enjoying) and we would never experience the same again in our entire lives, but I believed that good moments must get over in a flash and must be worth remembering for our entire lives and I had 4 years. I am happy that we still make time and get together once a week. I thank all my college friends for making my life in UVCE a pleasant one.
